Love...

I love that Jesus spent time eating with people. In Luke 7 he was eating at a Pharisee's house which is noteworthy because the Pharisees tended to struggle with Jesus, but in this chapter it says, “A certain immoral woman heard he was there and brought a beautiful jar filled with expensive perfume. Then she knelt behind him at his feet, weeping. Her tears fell on his feet, and she wiped them off with her hair. Then she kept kissing his feet and putting perfume on them.” Can you picture this scene? If you have a vivid imagination, it’s almost too much to dwell on for long. The emotion and love could be beyond what my heart could handle. These verses tell me that Jesus was approachable and full of love. This woman was known as immoral, yet she anointed Jesus’ feet with perfume and tears. She knew by his presence he wouldn’t turn her away or condemn her. She knew Jesus was her only hope in life. Is Jesus our only hope? No matter how we have lived our life...Jesus is our only hope. How will you show him love this week?
