Life in America is slightly volatile currently. I am not going to pretend that I understand all or even some of what has gone on in the last week, but it does make me stop and reflect on my beliefs. What do I believe and why? Whatever our values, opinions, and rights are, or whatever we perceive they are does not equal the truth. In the Bible we find truth spelled out from God. As I was reading this morning in Luke chapter 1, I was reminded once again about the truth of life. Life is from God, and he decides when it begins. In Luke an angel appears to Zechariah and tells him he will have a son, and then the angel explains the plan from God. The words of the angel: "You will have great joy and gladness, and many will rejoice with you at his birth, for he will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even before his birth. And he will persuade many Israelites to turn to the Lord their God." Did you notice that God had a plan for John before he was born, and he was even given the Holy Spirit before birth. Life starts on God's timeline at conception. (Zechariah and Elizabeth didn't even know they were expecting in Luke 1.) Let's keep searching to find answers so we know the truth. God's truth is what we ultimately need to know and follow.
