I love the ministry of Real Women. The purpose of Real Women is for connecting and discovering a next step to take on our journey with Christ. Connection is so powerful. I've been in churches where you could see people struggling to find it, and I've been in churches where it was a normal part of life for most. Connection could be almost as vital as food! With connection we thrive in life, and without it we stumble and struggle. I've had ladies tell me that coming to Real Women is like therapy, free therapy. I love that! When we share life and experiences with another person, we can feel refreshed and renewed, and we gain hope. Hope that we aren't alone, and hope that we aren't crazy! We need each other. God reminds us over and over throughout the Bible though that we aren't alone. "Since he himself has gone through suffering and temptation, he is able to help us when we are being tempted." (Hebrews 2:18) On those days when we feel isolated remember Christ walked this journey, and he is ready to hold us and sympathize when we walk through lonely days. Christ should be our first and closest connection, but we do need others also. I sat at a table for Real Women once when we talked about close friends, and a few of the ladies at the table admitted they hadn't had a close friend in ten plus years. If this is you...hold on to Christ and pray diligently for a friendship. God desires connection for us.
