As a mom I say things over and over again. Since I've been a mom for 21 years and I have a five year old, I  have repeated myself hundreds of times, and I have hundreds of  "close the door" and "speak kindly" to go before my job is complete. Having my oldest two children home for a few weeks has been fun, but they discuss the things I didn't say, or at least they didn't hear.(Parenting is humbling.) I guess unless something is said at least a hundred times, it may not stick. My children aren't alone though on needing instant replay daily because I need reminders frequently too. I love our tradition of Life Verse at ValleyPoint. Whenever I hear others share their verse for the year, I find myself thinking that's a great verse, or I forgot about that promise of God. Sometimes I read or hear a verse, and I think why haven't I been applying that truth to my life! Reminders help me. I need to hear God's commands again and again like my children need to hear...close the door! Hebrews 2:1 says, "So we must listen very carefully to the truth we have heard, or we may drift away from it." It takes consistent hard work to listen very carefully and not drift. Let's search for a life verse that keeps us from drifting away from God.
