Life can be humorous! There are words, books, websites, and ideas that I'm sure I've been hearing about for years that I've never listened too. Unless we need to know or use something we don't tend to internalize it. (At least many times I don't.) As I age, I am remembering conversations people have had with me that have a whole new meaning now. One example is that I thought I knew what reading glasses were, but I didn't realize I would wake up one morning and not be able to read any small print. When I talked about my dilemma, I heard...you're 40ish. It just happens. So since I can't read small print well, this verse in Psalm 119:123 jumped off the page at me. "My eyes strain to see your deliverance, to see the truth of your promise fulfilled." My eyes definitely strain to see small print, but I also strain more and more to see God's truth. What is God saying to me? What are God's promises that I can claim? What has He promised me? The takeaway is: strain to find out what promises God is giving you. Search...it's worth it!
Here's a little start...
Hebrews 13:5 "...For God has said, I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU. I WILL NEVER FORSAKE YOU.'"
James 1:21 "So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the message God has planted in your hearts, FOR IT IS STRONG ENOUGH TO SAVE YOUR SOULS."
James 4:7, 8 "So humble yourselves before God. Resist the Devil, and HE WILL FLEE FROM YOU. Draw close to God, and GOD WILL DRAW CLOSE TO YOU."
