I spend quite a bit of time reading children's books. Rarely does a day go by where I miss! One of the classics, Dr. Seuss, says, "All Alone! Whether you like it or not, Alone will be something you'll be quite a lot. And when you're alone, there's a very good chance you'll meet things that scare you right out of your pants. There are some, down the road between hither and yon, that can scare you so much you won't want to go on." (Oh, the Places You'll Go!) This is a popular children's book that is read by many, but the words are ones we would rather ignore. It's important to remember, we will have lonely, troubling days, but we have God during those days. "Lord, hear my prayer! Listen to my plea! Don't turn away from me in my time of distress. Bend down your ear and answer me quickly when I call to you...I am like an owl in the desert, like a lonely owl in a far-off wilderness. I lie awake, lonely as a solitary bird on the roof." (Psalm 102) During lonely, troubling days keep talking to God. During lonely, troubling days remember God is with us.
