I was with a friend this past week, and we were talking about our dreams and goals. During the conversation it hit me how even in your forties you make plans for "some day". Since life goals and college plans have been a main topic in our home for a few years, it's interesting to me that goals and dreams continue to change. In the midst of  life there is a desire in us to be successful. When life changes, careers shift,  or when struggles come, how do we measure success? Looking around we may see success in others (and not in ourselves), but we may not be looking at success the way God desires. God gives us direction in all areas of life, including success. Joshua 1:6-7 "Be strong and courageous, for you will lead my people to possess all the land I swore to give their ancestors. Be strong and very courageous. Obey all the laws Moses gave you. Do not turn away from them, and you will be successful in everything you do." Success means to prosper, but that isn't the only definition. The success that comes from being in God's Word is "to wisely understand". Wisdom from obeying and knowing God's Word is success. I say and write it all the time, in God's Word. God's promise to us is wisely understand.
