My eight year old son is so cute (to me) in his little black glasses. He looks studious, and it fits his personality. I enjoy watching him work so diligently on his homework. He checks and double checks everything in his notebook, and he has a desire to get every right. I hope his good work ethic continues. God gives us a few guidelines for work in Ephesians 6:5-9. God tells us to work hard even when no one is watching. (I think we are generally better at working when someone is observing us.) Not only are we supposed to work hard, but we are also to work with enthusiasm. How would you rate yourself on enthusiasm when it relates to your work? Are you devoted to what you do? God tells us that all of our work (whatever it looks like) is to be for Him because He is the one that will reward us for the good we do. It's easy to think that pastors, church staff, and missionaries work for God, but all followers of Christ are His employees. God has the bonuses planned. "Remember that the Lord will reward each one of us for the good we do..." He wants us to please Him by working well.
