Happy Spring! I have bunnies and eggs around my house, and I'm looking forward to resurrection rolls and Easter egg hunts. The last thing on my mind is Halloween, but when I read in Ephesians six today, I was reminded that normally I only think about the Devil during the month of October. It's when I walk down the creepy isle in Target. But the Devil is a real being, and one I should take time to remember. The Devil is the enemy of God which makes him my enemy. It's easy for me to forget that I'm engaged in a war that I can't see, but yet it affects me in significant ways. Because of this war I need to be prepared with armor and intention. "A final word: Be strong with the Lord's  mighty power. Put on all of God's armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies and tricks of the Devil. For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against the evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against those mighty powers of darkness who rule this world, and against wicked spirits in the heavenly realms." (Ephesians 6:10-12) Many days I get wrapped up in the conflicts I can see, and I don't give a thought to the big picture I can't see or understand. I believe God wants us to remember that many of our struggles are beyond our comprehension, and we need to remember to listen carefully to His instructions. A good goal for us is to be ready to stand firm. Stand firm on the side of right.
