Because I have a large family, there is an enormous amount of talking that takes place each day. Since I have a few children who are quiet at school, they talk constantly at home. At times I think there is probably too much talking. Sometimes it's loud; sometimes it's filled with laughter which I love. But there are times of arguing and mean words too. So how should we talk? What should our conversations convey?  Ephesians 4:29 says, "When you talk, do not say harmful things. But say what people need- words that will help others become stronger. Then what you say will help those who listen to you." I see a few steps in this verse. First, do not say harmful things. There are many words that just shouldn't be said. Next, say what people need. What do the people in your family...the people in your life need you to say to them. How can you make them stronger? Last, you and I can help people. We can make a difference in the lives of others by saying the words that are needed.
