The words "it's not fair" can be heard in my house, and the reminder that life isn't fair is a common response to the distraught child.(Such a loving comment!) Fair treatment is a desire we all have though except when we ponder what we actually deserve. God has a sovereign, perfect plan that can be hard to understand and trust. Ephesians 1:9-14 says that God has a plan, and His plan is centered on Christ. It's a plan designed according to His good pleasure, and this plan will come together at the right time. Personally, these are encouraging words...except when my plans and God's plan don't seem to match. When my plan doesn't concur with God's plan or when God's way seems slow, I feel like my children, and I want to say that "it's not fair". So if we feel like God's way isn't fair, there are a few promises that go along with God's plan that can give us joy. Because we are in Christ, we are His, and we receive the promise of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit identifies us as a Christian, and the Holy Spirit gives us comfort, discernment in reading and learning God's Word, wisdom, and the list continues. And God saved us. Take time to stop and be overwhelmed by God's love and perfect plan of salvation.
