"So you should not be like cowering fearful slaves. You should behave instead like God's very own children, adopted into his family-calling him "Father, dear Father." For his Holy Spirit speaks to us deep in our hearts and tells us that we are God's children. And since we are his children, we will share his treasure..." Romans 8:15-17
There is something beautiful about the father...child relationship. The love and security a father gives is priceless. God is our father. He desires for us to enjoy His family. How comfortable am I in His presence? Do I feel secure in the fact that my Father owns the "cattle on a thousands hills"? Am I living and enjoying the privileges of being God's child? My children all need time with their dad. Today they were all stressed because he was home late, but it all disappears when he walks in the door. Their faces light up, and they all start talking. Our heavenly Father is never late. He is always accessible. Because life is unpredictable and overwhelming, I need my heavenly Father, and I desire to rest in His secure arms. How are you at resting in your Father?
