"And so dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice-the kind he will accept. When you think of what he has done for you, is this too much to ask. Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you in to a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect his will really is." (Romans 12:1,2)
Two ideas from these verses truly have impacted my heart. First, God wants me to give myself to Him. Everything I have...everything I am belongs to him. I need to daily obey God's will. God's will is "speak the truth in love", "do not steel", "love your neighbor as yourself", and "be kind". Then God gives us the freedom to do what we love because God created us each unique.
Next, I need to change the way I think so I can be a new person. My thoughts can get so selfish and inwardly focused. Thoughts swirling around in my head can be far from what God wants for me. I need to think God's way. God promises life and peace to us if we allow Him to control our thoughts.
