It's Christmas card time, and I love getting Christmas cards. Christmas cards can be cute, beautiful, fun, or meaningful. The pictures and letters sent from family and friends who we don't see regularly help us catch up. Many cards have the word "peace" on them. Peace...everyone wants it, but it seems like few truly feel it.

So how do we get peace? There is a paragraph in Philippians 4:8,9 that tells us to think. Here's the list of things to think about: true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praise worthy things. True means the stuff we actually know. Lovely...when is the last time you just thought about something lovely? We get so caught up in the things we worry about, the news, or the things that aren't going according to our plans that we don't take the time for lovely things.

Next, Paul says to do what he has been teaching them and living out in front of them. He basically says just obey God. So if we think the way God wants us to and if we do what God wants us to, we get peace. The peace we see on the Christmas cards can truly be ours if we think and do what God says. Be encouraged!
