Thanksgiving was a special holiday for us as we were able to have family in for the whole week. As we finished the weekend my focus suddenly changed from turkey to, how am I going to finish all my Christmas shopping. What do I even want to buy for my six kids? How should we celebrate this month? The days of December are already full, and it's not even December yet. I love this time of the year, but it does get overwhelming. If we aren't intentional, we can easily become discouraged.

So Philippians 4:6,7 says, "Don't worry about anything;instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. If you do this, you will experience God's peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus." First, don't worry. Next, pray about everything. Everything is a big word, but everything means everything. Last, we need to thank God for all he has done. So what happens if we follow God's instructions? We get the gift of God's peace. It's so good...God says we can't even imagine it. This peace will then guard our hearts and minds. I love these verses.

There are so many guidelines to follow, and there are always instructions. But God's way for life really makes a difference. I need to remember...it truly changes life.
