Today, Cambree discovered the love of band-aids. She needed a band-aid because Caden had a band-aid. By the end of the day she had talked Clarice into giving her a band-aid too. What is it about band-aids that makes life better? I don't think any of us like the thought of pain, but life is full of it.
Philippians 1:27-30 are some verses that might be easy to skip over because we don't really want to think about the truth written in them. First, Paul tells us that no matter what...stick together as a church. It's easy to get frustrated with each other and loose sight of what really matters. The church is a family, and families love each other. Families also drive each other crazy. Sometimes we forget that love "keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." (I Corinthians 13:6,7) Paul says we stand together because of the gospel. Don't we normally think first about ourselves? What about our hurt feelings? At times our opinions, ideas, and convictions block what's truly important.
Next, "For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for him". As Christ followers we will suffer for Him. Pain will come to believers. The Christian life isn't picture perfect, but sometimes we feel like we should have rights to an easy life. Actually, we should be ready for pain. If you are hurting, be an example to those around you. If you are hurting for Christ, be encouraged. If life is a smooth road today, be ready to lean into Him because it will probably get bumpy on the journey.
