When was the last time you said something like: "Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my sighing. Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray. In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation." (Psalm 5:1-3) Do you ask God to pay attention to you? It doesn't seem respectful enough for me, but yet this is how David talked to God. I think, David spent a great deal of his time communicating with God. He truly asks God to listen to him. He expressed how he felt, and he asked for help.
Mornings can be a little exciting in my house. Even well planned days, can be crazy. There is always so much to do. Then the backpacks, gym bags, lunches, permission slips, homework, missing socks, and shoes all need to come together in time for school. Mornings...are also the time when we are to be talking to God. It's when we are to give Him our requests. Why the morning? I think, it helps us focus on God. It sets the tone for the day. It also is easier to focus than later in the day. The problems are just going to grow as the day continues, and we get more distracted. As the day goes on there are more interruptions too. This week...try the morning. Talk to God and truly tell Him how you feel, and what you need.
