I love being a wife and a mom. There are so many great parts to my day...everyday. One of my favorite things to do is to give kisses. I have a lot of people to kiss everyday. I kiss my husband each morning he leaves for work, and I kiss the four kids who leave for school. Caden and Cambree get lots of kisses all day, and they love it. Everyone gets kissed when they walk into the house and before they go to bed. They get kisses whether they want it or not. Along time ago we started giving "double kisses". "Double kisses" were saved for injuries where the tears were out of control. Kissing shows love.
Psalm 2:12 says, "Kiss the Son, lest he be angry and you be destroyed in your way, for his wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in him." So here we have a verse about kissing, but what does it mean? To "kiss the son" means to give ourselves to Christ. The picture of these words is a submissive one where we choose to make Christ our leader. We say Christ is our leader, but do we truly live under His leadership. Do we live following Him?
So how should we "kiss the Son" this week? Look at your calendar. Do you have some time for Him written down everyday? We lead busy lives, but are we busy with what we should be? We need to take the time to evaluate what we are accomplishing. It might all be good stuff, but is it what God wants for us? Christ deserves my whole heart, and I want to show love for my Savior.
