"To do..."

It's just amazingly beautiful outside! The warm weather...the flowers...it's just gorgeous. I love spring flowers. Warm weather makes me feel like I should be accomplishing more. My daily list is long. When you look at your "to do" list, do you see things that are for God, or do you see a long list that is all about "stuff". It's so easy to get caught up in the temporary things of the world.

Colossians 3:3,4 says, "For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory." We died? This doesn't quite go along with the new life of spring, but it means that we should have as much desire as a dead person would for the stuff of this world. That means we should have no desire for the stuff of this world. Are you there? I know, I really need to work on where my focus is. We have to look at life from God's eyes. The more I know Him; the more I will see life God's way. Much of what we work at and stress over is temporary, and if we try to look at life God's way, we would live differently.

The life lived focused on Christ isn't a life filled with do's and don'ts, but a life that "is now hidden with Christ in God". We are safe and secure in Him. How encouraging! We are safe. Sometimes we chase temporary stuff to help us feel secure, but we are secure in Christ. We need to trust Him. I love how verse four says that Christ is our life. He is...are we living that way?

Look at your "to do" list and see if your life shows that you are looking at life through God's eyes.

  1. Very challenging! I wonder how often I look at life from God's point of view. . .that's the definition of wisdom!
