Happy Valentine's Day! Today is a day of cards, flowers, chocolates, and dates. I hope you enjoyed your day. We give our kids "tickets" for Valentine's Day. Anytime movie, video game ticket, date with dad, shopping day, and snack of your choice are some of the tickets. They really enjoy it. Today, I was in my daughter Cailee's 3rd grade class for her Valentine's Day party, and the little girls were dressed-up for the special day. It was cute! When a couple goes out for Valentine's Day,it's a pretty big deal to "look good". Our appearance is important to us.
Colossians 1:21-23 are amazing verses. The verses talk about how we were enemies of God in our minds because of our evil behavior. "But now he has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation-" Even though we are a mess...sinners, we have been made right because of Christ. Christ has made us "holy in his sight". We couldn't look prettier to Christ then when we have been made "holy in his sight". I love the idea of looking holy to God. It's hard to imagine because I don't feel holy. Holy is what Christ has made me. I can live differently because I am holy. Do you live like you are holy? What comes to mind when you hear the word, holy? White...angels...clean and perfect. We are holy. We are set apart for God.
This week know that you are special...set apart for God. Live differently. Live changed.
