Shields...

My precious baby girl is eleven months old now, and I can't believe it! Time is going so fast. Everyday Cambree does something new. She has started imitating, and it is very sweet. Today she began making shooting sounds. (Great noise for a girl.) She has been playing with Caden. It's funny to watch. I have played many games with guns, swords, light sabers, helmets, and shields with my three boys.

There are days where it would be great if we really could walk around with helmets and shields. We could all use some extra protection. Most of us don't walk around being fearful of being shot physical, but we all take many hits in life. The surprise attacks of circumstances or people can be overwhelming. Harsh words, disappointments, and failures... leave us hurting.

Proverbs 30:5 says, "Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him." I love this verse because it says that God is my shield. If I take refuge in him or if I confide in him, he is my shield. Confiding in God means that I'm trusting in him. The more time I spend in his Word; the more I love and understand God. The more I know God; the more I trust God. When I'm trusting, I'm protected.

Simply...spend time in God's perfect Word. It truly has the answers for life. And then enjoy living knowing God's shield is protecting you.
