As I walked around my house on Monday, I picked-up pieces. There were at least ten pens, a few random socks, and a bunch of baby toys. The list goes on as I found school books under the coach, papers...many papers from church, school, and creative creations. Files, books, bills, mail...after I start putting all the pieces away I begin to realize I could put pieces away all day. The pieces that should be upstairs are downstairs, and the cars and starwars guys that are downstairs should be upstairs. Life is full of pieces.

We all have pieces we have to pick-up and put away. Sometimes it's all the "stuff" we have to wade through in life. As I read Proverbs 23, I thought of all the different pieces and parts of life. Verse four says, "Do not wear yourself out to get rich; have wisdom to show restraint." Money...a piece of life. "Do not speak to a fool, for he will scorn the wisdom of your words.(23:10) Have any hard to handle people? "Do not withhold discipline from a child;" Discipline is a piece that can take tons of time. "Listen, my son, and be wise, and keep your heart on the right path." Have you checked your heart today?

So where are you? Are you working on the pieces in your life? Don't get discouraged. When the pieces get overwhelming, pick-up one at a time. Work on what is right in front of you. Today I picked-up pieces throughout my house again. They just keep showing-up. I have to work on the areas of my heart and life daily too. I need to keep lining myself up next to God's Word, and I changing whatever it is I see that needs changing. Keep reading...keep changing.
