Do you ever check and see how many Facebook friends you have? Do you know who all your Facebook friends are? It's easy to have "friends", but it seems like many people are lonely. It's possible to be lonely with 1,000s of Facebook friends. It's also possible to be lonely in a room full of people. I heard a story of a friend who went to a wedding and played with a little two year old. She didn't bring her children, but she didn't have friends to talk with during the reception. Lonely at a party. We've all been there. Sometimes we have lonely days.

Loneliness can be frustrating. There are so many ways to stay connected and be connected, but we still might be lonely. We might have lots of people we know, but we might not feel truly connected to a real friend. Proverbs 18:24 says, "A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother." What kind-of friend are you? Do you matter what? Do you listen? Are you ready to give? Many are always looking for a friend...a good friend, but maybe we should be focusing on being a good friend. Friendship takes time, and it takes sacrifice.

So are you a sticky friend? As much as we want to have great friends, we sometimes struggle being a real friend. Be sticky!
