Write it...

Blogging...Facebook...Twitter. We are all about writing what we are doing, feeling, and thinking. It's fun to read what our friends are doing. Journaling is more personal, but it's another way of writing what we are thinking. I don't journal daily about life, but I do enjoy journaling about what I am learning in God's Word. I have used journals to ask questions about God. What is His character? How did He respond to others? I have wondered how does God want me to live? How should I respond? What can I learn from the different people in the Bible?

Proverbs is a great book for questions. Money...friends...time...work...are just a few topics that are covered. Life is always busy, and I think it's easy for me to forget to focus on what is truly important. What should I be focused on today? So as I read chapter 4 in Proverbs I simply asked, what should I be doing? What should be occupying my time? In Proverbs 4:5 it says that we are to "get wisdom". Reading Proverbs is the right track for that. Verse 23 says that we should guard our heart. Proverbs 4:26 says, "Make level paths for your feet and take only ways that are firm."

As you Facebook and share what you are doing, take time to think about what God wants you to be thinking and doing. Write it down...
