As I think about some of the “stuff” in my life that I didn’t or don’t like, I can see God’s hand in some of it. Some of the pain I will probably never understand -why, but I can see how God has worked on me through many circumstances.

Acts 11:19-24 are interesting verses. “Now those who had been scattered by the persecution in connection with Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, telling the message only to Jews. Some of them, however, men from Cyprus and Cyrene, went to Antioch and began to speak to Greeks also, telling them the good news about the Lord Jesus.” Sometimes the stuff we don’t like or enjoy about life is present to help us do and become what we should. If there hadn’t been any persecution, would the believers have left the comfort of their homes? Would they have looked out? Would they have shared with the Gentiles? God gave them a push.

We all have pain. We all have been pushed when we wanted to stay home. Can you see some good in it? I hope you can. Today might be a good time to think about what God has taught you. Write it down. Share it. I know, one thing God has worked on in me is to hold all He has given me with open hands. It’s not easy, but it has made it so much easier when it’s time to give something up. It’s all His, and He always knows best so I try to not hold too tightly. I am praying that we will each look at the pain and the pushes through God’s eyes.
